These are just the best starter, canapés or Netflix & chill quick bite. If you don’t like cauliflower I promise you will like these. By baking the cauliflower twice the texture becomes quite “meaty” and once coated in your favourite hot sauce extra delicious too. They are super simple and they deliver tons of favour, you just have to try them!
Ingredients:
1 head of cauliflower broken down into florets
2 tbsp of white flour – use gluten free if needed
2 tbsp of oil – avocado or any other flavourless one would be ideal
1/2 tsp of salt
1/3 cup of your favourite chilli sauce
2 tbsp of melted vegan butter or oil
1 tsp of maple syrup
Add the cauliflower to a large bowl. Drizzle the oil and with your hands toss the florets around until they are all nicely coated. Sprinkle the flour and salt on top and toss again. Line a baking tray with some parchment paper. Spread the cauliflower on the baking tray. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. Make sure to stir them halfway through to prevent from burning.
in the meantime in a bowl mix together the chilli sauce, maple syrup and melted vegan butter or oil. Remove the florets from the oven and add them to the bowl with the sauce. Mix well making sure every florets is well coated in the sauce.Spread the cauliflower back on the baking tray and bake for another 15 minutes until slightly crispy on the edges.
Remove from the oven and enjoy as they are or dipped in some plain coconut yogurt or vegan mayo!
